Abid Hussain

Abid Hussain is a veteran librarian based on Islamabad, Pakistan.  Currently working as  Library Officer at Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). His research interests include library leadership, Digital Library services, Web-based Technology, information literacy, Bibliometric, information services etc . Prior to this job, he served as Digital Library in charge at National Defence University Islamabad from April 2009 to April 2017 and Assistant Librarian at Air University Islamabad from May 2005 to September 2007. He has contributed 10 articles in reputed journals at National and International level, whereas,  three of his articles are in pipeline. He has published  more than 60 columns, essays and Opinion articles in various English Newspapers, magazines and blogs in Pakistan and abroad. He is regularly writing for Pakistan Observer since 2017. 
In this role, he designed, implemented, coordinated, and assessed the library instruction program; he also trained fellow librarians in instructional theory and methods. He earned his Master in Library and Information Sciences in 2006 from University of Peshawar, Pakistan,  and also holds a Master Degree in Political Science (2011)  from the same university, he has earned his B.Ed degree from Sarhad University Peshawar in 2016. 
During his career, He completed many projects by digitizing various libraries in Pakistan such as :

•    Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad Library

•   Library at National Textile Institute Islamabad etc.
